Re: Sv: arctic cat hcr turbo

we are running CNC modified turbo, with low psi, also the engine ignition is changed, so even with long hill climbs you never get the limit (we have a 7min hill climb with a full throttle, and at testing two weeks ago we never produce and deto in the engine) so it looks to work.

there is also a intercooler version available but you need to run extra radiator. (check the picture)

Okey! that looks alright.

Whats the price for the turbokit?

Any dynoruns with it?
7 psi is aroung 0,5 bars pressure (0.48).
the teoretical HP should be around 240, right?

Re: Sv: arctic cat hcr turbo

i become a expert of faking the hp numbers on our dyno, there are million tricks to get more hp out of a snowmobile engine then it normally have. (air temp, fuel mixtures, ....) but in reality the kit produce 210-215hp on the track (in snow), which is OK. Stock sled produce 110 (so 100hp more should move you quick forward.)
we made a new helix which work fine on turbo m8, so moving forward become really soft. and the kit work fine on trails to, then there is no turbo lag.

the price is 3995 EUR + transport (to Scandinavia we charge 100 EUR for transport)
everything is included in the kit that you need for installation, also the modified OEM arctic cat power supply. with normal tech skills it take 6-7 hours.
all parts are under EU warranty, but only the turbo self and oil pump can brake, everything else is i think impossible to kill.

Whats the reason for NOT having a intercooler?

On Only 7psi (0,48bar) The intercooler dont give more then aproxly 5 % more power to the engin. And you hawe faster spolupp time whitout IC. The air is not so hot on only 7 psi so the need of IC is not so big on that low levels.

If you go up to 0,8-1,1 bar the ic can give upp to 12% more than whitout ic on the same boostlevel , so then the ic is very big advance.

Re: Sv: arctic cat hcr turbo

that is correct, you can use always a IC for security reasons, but at low boost you don't need it.

anyway, AC M8 with more then 8psi will make troubles, so its better to stay low and secure,

Re: Sv: arctic cat hcr turbo

up to 20% power loss. depend on clutch, track and rear-skid setup.
210 is fine, clutch is full optimized

we have developed new pistons for arctic cat 2 stroke 500 & 800 engines, which are 2,5 times stronger and 35% lighter then OEM.
so you can run high boost on sea level, or on OEM 800 engine it produce much more hp. but for now everything is secret :) (i know all those business secrets sucks)

At only 7psi (0,48 bar) the egine dont make any 210 hp on the track! In best case and very very very good turbo config a engine can make near 100% more hp than stock on 1 bar or 1,1 bar wiht intercooler. In 2 stroke its harder to find out so good turbo setupp that leavs 100% hp at only 1 bar

MY ""guess"" is 0,48 bar the Arcitcat 800 reach 200hp in best case on the engin (in best case). That leave 160-170 on tha track ,,Not bad att all . If you hawe that good performance i will be more than happy.

How many bar or psi do you hawe to load to get 210 on the track?

Tha pistons sounds like very good stuff keep on tha good work

Re: Sv: arctic cat hcr turbo

we have a dyno for track hp testing, then the whole turbo setup is based to produce track HP and not engine HP (like American bullshit products)
the turbo we use is optimized for two stroke exhaust air flow. also the compression housing wheel is working very good.

we are boosting 8psi at TM8 which is sold by arctic cat, but on that we have made million changes to hit the quality and warranty standard
on standard turbo kit we boost 7-8psi and we have produce our own clutch spring, weight, helix and few other things to get better power out to the drive train.

to get the HP on the track you need to optimize both clutches and blowoff valve, we have also optimized a lot of other things , to get better power output.
but there are many things that can change the power output from the engine. we tell all customers to use 10 - 20% avgas to get the temperature down.

the pistons are a cool product, but testing sucks, (i mean, warranty sucks, if you must give warranty and want manufacturer support you have to work on product quality)

Ok,,,, you hawe the best turboconfig if you get out so good performance out of so low boostlevel. 8 psi and 244 hp out on the crank (oem 163) That can be over 200 on the track

Do you hawe any dynochart on that you can show ?

sounds to me lika a theoretical increase of power
163hp with 8psi (or 0.55bar) boost can be about that performance theoretical, but to run with 98 octane in h.o. engine I do think that the compression is to high in a stock engine and that the fuel pump and injectors also needs to be replaced.
When lowering compression the performance on the engine will become lower without boost and 8psi should not be enough to reach 244hp

Re: Sv: arctic cat hcr turbo

we are here talking about two different things,
250hp tm8 is a turbo chargerd 2011 m8 with all the secrets and tricks we know. and actually weare producing much more hp then 250hp on that series.
standard turbo kit showed on the hcr pictures is non intercooled and made for security to keep the engine save. it is optimized to produce enough power to not use any intercooler or any other massive engine modification.

yeah we have internal charts, for tuning , but AC do not give anything public (as always)

on a boosted 2 stroke you can easy blow up hp, it is not like a 4stroke.
exhaust, can, head, pistons, new ecu, some carb tuning, clutch (both), intake and few other little tricks and you are at 190 (without boosting) all that can be done in two days and you have a bullet prove non-boosted high performance m8.

we are not lowering compression on the 10/11 m8, that is something you must do on BD, OVS, twisted and all the other kits. just mounting a efi controller, turbo, airbox and few other things are not enough to make a quality product.
